On May 13, 2014, Mr. O. Chuluunbat, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Mongolia, met Mr. Alexey Likhachev, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, to discuss bilateral cooperation and relations in various sectors of the economy.
At the meeting, the Mongolian representative focused on Mongolia’s interest to co-implement major infrastructure projects in the territory of Mongolia together with Russia. The list of major infrastructure projects might include railways, power lines, oil and gas pipelines and paved roads.
In response, Alexey Likhachev stated that if the cooperation plan is approved at the government level and the economics of the projects are beneficial for both countries, Russia would be very committed to cooperating with Mongolia.
